Provide responsible service of alcohol
- This unit covers the performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge for responsibly selling, serving, or supplying alcohol.
- Responsible practices apply wherever alcohol is sold, served, or sampled (including on-site tastings) in all hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets, wineries, breweries, and distilleries.
- Applies to all staff involved in sale, service, including promotional service and supply, such as F&B attendants, salespersons (in person, phone, online), cellar door staff, delivery and supplier reps, security personnel monitoring behavior, and the licensee responsible for RSA management.
- Incorporates the knowledge requirements under state/territory liquor licensing law; certification requirements vary by jurisdiction. In some areas, all involved personnel must be certified (potentially including the licensee and security staff); in others, bridging courses may be needed to address differences.
- Training developers should consult the relevant state/territory liquor licensing authority for accreditation requirements for courses, trainers, and assessors
