- This unit covers performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge for providing responsible gambling services and
assisting customers at risk or experiencing gambling harm. - Responsible gambling must be provided wherever gambling occurs, including in hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, and
casinos (the gaming area). - Major forms of gambling relevant to hospitality are wagering (racing and sport) and gaming (machines, table games,
Keno, lotteries); TAB outlets may be involved for wagering. - Responsible provision is essential for all hospitality staff involved in sale or service of gambling, including licensees,
gaming supervisors, and gaming managers. - The unit applies to frontline staff with limited autonomy who operate within organisational procedures and
regulatory/industry codes of conduct. - Training developers should consult state/territory gaming licensing authorities for accreditation.
- The unit aligns with state/territory laws and terms like Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG), Responsible Service
of Gaming, or Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG); certification may be required for certain licensed premises
